“Enabling Commercialization of Flexible Hybrid Electronics
for High Volume Applications at Cost and Scale”

FHE EXPLAINED

FHE is a combination of conventional electronics with large-area, flexible or formed components.

This combination provides enormous advantages in design, function, cost and weight savings.
NextFlex, a flexible electronics consortium, will be allocating $75M of funding from the National Network of
Manufacturing Institute (NNMI) throughout the United States to assist commercialization of this
technology in several competing areas

The IQM Research Institute is advocating for a portion of these funds to advance the commercialization
of FHE for automotive, appliance, and defense manufacturers. IQM is conducting a study to recommend
the application of funding to enable commercialization of FHE and is seeking industry participation in
the form of the time of designers, engineers, production personnel, and strategic thinking executives.
The hours contributed by industry partners will demonstrate industry want and need to advance FHE in
the US in these market verticals. This will help IQM assist these industries by shaping project calls and
facilitating funded projects in this area.

IQM encourages companies interested in study participation or learning more about FHE
to contact us to discuss this in more detail
